Snowshoe hiking is a great way to fully enjoy the local nature, and you may even find animal trails while traversing the route. For honeymooners we recommend an independent snowshoe hike along the snowshoe trail leading to the Tikkalaavu campfire shelter, where you can savour hot juice from a thermos flask. The trail is relatively easy-going; covering approximately one kilometre and travelling through Luosto’s picturesque old spruce groves. Snowshoes for the duration of the trip, a snowshoe hiking trail map and hot drinks are all included in the Arctic Eye service.

The reception and restaurant areas of Hotel Aurora showcase the Arctic Eye photography exhibition. The exhibition displays the photographs taken by Finnish photographer Antti Kurola. Savour a glass of a hot beverage and immerse yourself into the local atmosphere on the very evening of your arrival. The open fire in the reception bar perfects your evening out.

The easy route around Ahvenlampi Pond departs from a point located only 400 metres from the hotel. The route travels around the pond and has a total length of only 1.6 kilometres. In the winter months you can also walk on top of the frozen pond. In fact, the pond is one of the best places in Luosto for viewing the Northern Lights in the evening!

Sledging among friends for all who are children at heart! On the right side of Luosto’s downhill skiing slopes is a sledging hill that provides plenty of thrills for adults and children alike. Borrow your own Arctic Eye sledge from the hotel reception desk and let the snow fun begin.
