The Luosto resort has numerous excellent locations for watching the spectacle of the Northern Lights and brightly starlit skies of the Arctic! Our highly-skilled hotel employees will help you to find the stargazing locations, and the hotel’s unique Aurora Alert Service system tells you when the Northern Lights are definitely there to be experienced.

Stroll around the Ahvenlampi Pond! Explore Luosto’s beautiful nature independently with a short walk. The easy route around Ahvenlampi Pond departs from a point located only 400 metres from the hotel. The route travels around the pond and has a total length of only 1.6 kilometres. In the winter months you can also walk on top of the frozen pond. In fact, the pond is in fact one of the best places in Luosto for viewing the Northern Lights in the evening!

The Arctic Eye experience cannot guarantee you will see the phenomena of the Arctic skies, but offers guests the opportunity to experience the phenomena in Luosto, Finnish Lapland.

Visit to Jaakkola Reindeer Farm. The Kuurakka Program takes you on a 30-minute laidback reindeer sleigh ride. After the sleigh ride experience you get to pet and feed the reindeer on the reindeer farm. Get your camera out and take a selfie with a reindeer!

Arctic Experience

The Arctic Sky Tonight Show gives you interesting facts about light phenomena in the sky, such as the moon, stars, Northern Lights, and you get to view the arctic sky from a prime location set high in the fell highlands. The program starts from the Luosto Resort with special Pendolino transportation that takes you on an ascent up the fell.
